Profusely pleased and exceptionally enthused would I be if any of the following goodies found their way to me and the learners at Elamba Combined School in Uukwaluuthi, Namibia:
For the endearing learners: basic school supplies (pens, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, coloring gadgets, tape, rulers, etc), mini jigsaw puzzles, reading material (short novels, magazines, anything that has written English), candy that I can award for good test performances, math flash cards, soccer ball or basketball, or suprise them with something not listed!
For the volunteer who sometimes gets lonely and hungry: photos from past or present, Time or Newsweek magazines, interesting clippings, favorite books, high caliber crossword puzzles, hand-drawn pictures or puzzles or a combination of the two (Grant?), energy bars, powdered drinks (gatorade, propel, emergen-c), oreos, candy bars (snickers, twix, reeses, nutrageous, peanut or peanut butter M&Ms, anything chocolatey or peanut buttery, skittles), fruit leathers, dried foodstuffs, hand sanitizer, homemade cookies, or generally anything that would put a smile on my face or appease my sweet teeth. Don't stress though because I'm easily thrilled.
My address is: Parker Lewis Elamba Combined School P.O. Box 344 Uukwaluuthi, Tsandi Namibia, Africa
The most economical way to mail is using flat rate boxes or envelopes from the post office.
And it wouldn't hurt to throw on a few church related comments like 'Reverend Parker' or 'God bless you' or 'say hi to to the nuns'. Less chance of package pilfering that way. Tangi unene (thanks big time)!!
